Rachel Reinert Breaks Through, Again
In 2008, Rachel Reinert formed the band Gloriana along with country artists Cheyenne Kimball and brothers Tom and Mike Gossin. The group released its debut single "Wild at Heart" in 2009, which was certified gold, and two years later saw their big hit "(Kissed You) Good Night," go platinum. They were honored with an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Vocal Group as well as an American Music Awards award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Needless to say, this was a group of talented individuals.
Humbled by the experience of performing with country stars, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow, Jason Aldean, Alan Jackson, and Zac Brown Band, Gloriana was able to gain not only knowledge of the music industry, but also a rapidly growing fan base.
After eight years with the band, Reinert decided it was time to spread her wings and pursue a solo career.
“I’d always envisioned myself as a solo artist - that’s where my heart really was. I knew the time would come when I would feel my journey with the band had come to an end, I just didn’t know when.”
Reinert released her debut solo single “Cool,” in the summer of 2018. Drawing inspiration from classic artists such as Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Tom Petty, and Neil Young, “Cool” exemplifies a timeless and authentic sound of what Reinert likes to call “California Country.”
Reinert has the voice to silence a crowd and her raw talent is surely evident in “Cool” as its filled with beautiful harmonies and dreamy acoustics, giving the single a modern and classic sound.
“My songs come from a very personal place; it’s important to me that everything that I write and sing is real.” The track is about her first love and how they have stayed in each other’s lives through young love, a break-up and becoming friends — something that she admits is rare. “It’s a very reflective song,” Reinert explains, “I wouldn’t be who I am - and where I am today - without that experience.”
Reinert has been enjoying the artistic freedom that working as a solo artist provides. She’s ready to share her new tunes with the world, and hopes that her fans will be able to connect and enjoy her new sound. Although heading out into the world alone is daunting, we know that Reinert is ready for whatever is thrown her way and we’ll always be on her side.
